Former State Representative for the 57th Assembly District
Penny Bernard Schaber has lived in the Fox Valley for more than 28 years. She has been married to her husband Dale for over 22 years. They both enjoy gardening and working or hiking on the Ice Age Trail. Together they finished hiking the whole Ice Age Trail in 2005.
Penny has been a physical therapist for 32 years, working in hospitals, nursing homes, pubic schools and in private practice.
Penny was elected to the State Assembly in 2008 and re-elected in 2010 and 2012. During 2008 Session she served on the Transportation Committee, the Jobs, Economy and Small Business Committee, the Health Care and Health Care Reform Committee and the Public Health Committee. During the 2010 she served on the Transportation Committee, the Aging and Long Term Care Committee, the Public Health and Public Safety Committee, the Jobs Economy and Small Business Committee and the Legislative Council Study Committee on Legal Interventions for Persons with Alzheimer's and Related Dementias. She currently serves on the Transportation Committee, Aging and Long-Term Care Committee, the State Affairs Committee, the Jobs, Economy and Mining Committee and the Joint Survey Committee on Tax Exemptions.
Throughout her terms in the Assembly, she has worked with legislators of both parties to find solutions. As the third oldest of 11 children Penny learned a long time ago that working together is the key to success. In the Fox Valley, we know that partisanship matters less than getting things done and doing what's best for our community.
Penny served in the State Assembly from 2009-2015.
